SipaDrive: at the heart of the SipaBoards e-SUP

This is the patented SipaDrive, SipaBoards’ jet-propelled motor, fully integrated into the paddleboard.

It is simple to insert and remove from the SUP, further enhancing the SUP’s stability with minimal additional weight. In the 2.0 generation, two interchangeable batteries power the drive. They are easily inserted or removed. Batteries are available in various capacities: those with a capacity less than 100Wh allow users to bring them on board an airplane, while those with double the capacity enable longer rides.

SipaDrive is a complex product, encompassing a variety of different materials. We stopped counting our engineering hours invested in constantly upgrading it a long time ago. Lovingly, we call it purposely overengineered.

We’re using multiple types of plastics, various adhesives, standard and unique metal parts, electronics, fillers… Its production involves various technologies – plastic injection molding, vacuum forming, bonding, drilling, turning, milling, welding ….

In electronics, a multitude of technologies are also employed (Li-Ion batteries and their control, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS sensors…). For each component in the studio, the team seeks an idea and scenario, finding the most suitable solutions and materials, while also verifying possible manufacturing processes. Simultaneously, the cost and market availability of each part are also assessed. This is followed by meticulous production and testing.

  • MODULAR DESIGN allows users to upgrade or change blocks.
  • CRUISE OPTION BATTERIES are approved for air travel as carry-on or check-in luggage.
  • CERTIFIED FIRE-RETARDANT COMPOSITE MATERIALS used in the batteries ensure their safety for travel and storage.

It’s not just the SipaDrive. Attention to detail and technological excellence are evident in every aspect of the SipaBoards e-SUP. From selecting the best materials for the board to the carbon paddle: every wave is thoroughly ridden.
